Introducing the Blanche McQuade and Walter J. Carl, Jr. Play It Forward Program

We are excited to announce a meaningful change to our “Play It Forward” social giving program. From now on, the program will be known as the Blanche McQuade and Walter J. Carl, Jr. Play It Forward program, in honor of two extraordinary individuals who made a significant impact on our Hand & Foot journey.

Blanche McQuade, my beloved aunt, introduced our family to the game of Hand & Foot during one of our cherished family reunions. Her passion for the game and her generosity in teaching others sparked a newfound love for this faster-paced, more strategic version of Canasta. Sadly, my aunt recently passed away, but her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her infectious enthusiasm for the game.

Walter J. Carl, Jr., my father, enjoyed playing Hand & Foot and always supported my endeavors. Although he passed away in 2014, his financial legacy made it possible for me to pursue the creation of Hand & Foot Friends & Family Edition (HFFE). His generosity played a significant role in bringing this online game to life, allowing us to share the joy of Hand & Foot with a wider audience. His love for the game and his unwavering support continue to inspire me every day.

Both Blanche and Walter embodied the spirit of generosity and camaraderie that lies at the heart of our Hand & Foot community. By renaming our social giving program in their honor, we aim to celebrate their lives, the values they held dear, and the lasting impact they had on our family’s love for the game.

The Blanche McQuade and Walter J. Carl, Jr. Play It Forward program will continue to sponsor annual subscriptions for players in nursing homes or those 65 and older, enabling them to play HFFE with their family and friends. Through this initiative, we strive to bring the joy and connection of the game to those who may not have the opportunity to gather in person.

We invite you to contribute to this meaningful cause and help us spread the love of Hand & Foot to even more families and communities. Together, we can honor the legacies of Blanche McQuade and Walter J. Carl, Jr. while making a positive difference in the lives of others.
